About MTDSA
Learn how we support, celebrate, and advocate for individuals with Down syndrome across Montana.

How We Started
The Montana Down Syndrome Association was formed in Missoula, Montana in the spring of 2014 by families and friends of persons with Down syndrome. We recognized the need for families to get together to learn from each other and provide support. We also wanted to make sure that families know about the resources, research, and services that are available for individuals with Down syndrome.
Our mission is to honor and nurture the extraordinary lives of people with Down syndrome by advocating for them as well as providing educational, financial, social, and emotional support.
MTDSA is a 501(c)(3) Organization: Tax ID#: 47-1115039
Meet Our Board Members

Becky Colman
Board President
Becky Colman serves as the Board President of the Montana Down Syndrome Association. She and her husband, Shane, are proud parents of four children—their second child has Down syndrome. After moving to Missoula in 2016, Becky and her family found a sense of belonging and support through the MTDSA community. The connections they made with other families have been life-changing, and she is passionate about helping others experience that same sense of community. In addition to her role with MTDSA, Becky works full-time as a mortgage lender. She deeply values the dedication of the entire MTDSA board, all of whom balance full-time careers while volunteering their time and energy to support families across Montana. Becky is honored to be part of such a committed and compassionate team and is grateful for the opportunity to give back to a community that has given so much to her own family.

Nicole Quinn
Secretary
Nicole Quinn has served as Secretary of MTDSA since 2023. She was first inspired to become more involved with the organization after attending her first Buddy Walk, an experience that highlighted the powerful impact MTDSA has in the community. Nicole and her husband, Jon, have two children. Since 2013, she has worked with an aerial firefighting company, where she contributes to missions that protect lives and communities. Nicole is honored to support MTDSA’s mission and finds it deeply rewarding to witness the difference the organization makes for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

Jessie Crowley
Outreach Coordinator
Jessie serves as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Montana Down Syndrome Association. She is passionate about building meaningful connections and creating inclusive opportunities that celebrate individuals with Down syndrome. Her heart for this work is deeply personal—her son, Jacob, who is 18 and has Down syndrome, inspires her every day. Together with his two sisters, extended family, and a wide circle of friends, Jacob is surrounded by a strong support system and a full, rich life. Jessie loves that she’s had the opportunity to have been with the MTDSA since its very beginning, and involved with Buddy Walk planning committees even before that. And she brings her experience in event planning, photography, communications, and community engagement to foster collaboration, raise awareness, and ensure families across Montana feel supported and connected.
